Truth and Poetry

often hiding
from others
from myself
takes a form
shaped by metaphor
arrived through
chance and proximity
two random objects
placed within reach
almost touching
like the apple
and a loaded gun
so the space
between the two
coagulates
a third eye
to divine
a well of difference
through which
I can slip
into a truth
like a bride’s negligee
no one can see
