I know I should roll
and be happy within
the stumble bumble
of talk and step
to enjoy the fool
I have become
yet I know I will
turn and struggle
stand still and listen
to the niggling voices
which lick and whisper
beneath doubt’s laughter
too easy to say what should
as fear stifles what would
