speaking into the abstract you

my shadows are not dark enough
to hide within or to disguise
the simplistic aspects of desire
my words tremble between my fingers
like dust rising around foot falls
soft redolent explosions
which burn doubt into my walls
with an honesty too often obscured
through other expectations than truth
as if the loose clothes draped over me
are not quickly transformed to tight skin
until how I am seen becomes who I am
