He had to pull to the origin of things.”
                        –Charles Olson
Each day he goes about his life:
tending to clients,
adjusting this,
recommending that,
making dinner,
reading to his children,
laughing over red wine,
making love to his wife;
and betwixt all of this:
he reads in order to write,
then writes his poems
against the coming night,
writes out who he is to himself
through every moment of his life.
